Trip to Bali Part 1
I was blessed to travel to Bali in January 2025. I really enjoyed the trip. I will divide this post into two different sections. This section describes things I learned while teaching at the high school. It was such a great experience.
I would like to share some of my experiences in words and pictures:

ITEMS OF INTEREST THAT I LEARNED
The students and teachers wear different uniforms/clothes each day. You will be able to see that in the numerous pictures that I took with the students and they are wearing different uniforms each day.
On Tuesday of the week that I was there the students and staff participated in prayer time from 7:30-9 am. In addition, I learned that in the Bali Hindu religion, they pray 3 times a day so classes are halted around 12 noon each day for prayer time.
The students also pray a short prayer at the beginning and end of each class. In the room is a small assortment of flowers which symbolizes their prayer time.

I also found out that students who are in primary school and junior middle school begin classes around 7:30 and end classes at 1. However, they attend school six days a week including Saturdays as compared to High school students who attend classes Monday – Friday and classes end at 3 pm. I noticed that all of the classes seemed quite relaxing in that the students appeared not to be stressed. Test scores are not as important in Bali as they are in America and certainly not in China. English studies begin primarily in Junior middle school. As one would think, hospitality is the leading educational interest for most students with most seeing English as a way to gain employment with a cruise line. Workers on the cruise lines wages are significantly more than regular workers.
I really enjoyed my time in the classroom and made good friends with the staff.
