Travel to Bali Part 2- Sight seeing

The remaining time in Bali we spent doing the normal touristy thing while I also tried to learn as much as I could about Bali , its history and culture. As I continued to learn that much of Bali is tied to the Hindu Faith. While Hindu is also a major religious sect, the Bali beliefs are tied directly to Bali. 80% of People are Hindu with the remaining being Muslim, Buddhist and Christian. This was demonstrated by the number of flower bud offerings in front of homes and shops everywhere including entrances to the beaches.

The second day in Bali we stayed in Peglipuran which is a traditional village that is visited by many tourist. It is promoted as one of the 3 cleanest villages in the world. Below are a few pictures:

The homestay was very delightful and the couple who owned the facility were very kind and obliging.  They served us Balinese-style breakfast every morning and one evening my wife cooked a traditional Chinese dish.

This is our favorite table for breakfast
Tomato and eggs, Simple but very good
We are out to dinner with the couple that were our host
